We believe proof of work is far more important than arbitrary testing. Badges, portfolios, and exhibitions display proof of skill.
The end goal isn’t to get a good score on a test, it is to solve problems, analyze a moral dilemma, make difficult decisions, or persuade an audience.
There is much to discover in the freedom of having time and space to explore, to play with friends, to write a book, to memorize a song, to compete in sports, or to master an artistic discipline.
